Our church and our country have wandered far away from the
principles of respect and justice and equality that are supposed to be the
foundations of each.

Gimmee a break. Claiming that the USA or Catholic Church historically are
founded on respect, justice, and equality is just downright ignorant and
disgusting. My people were killed off by the genocide of those who
founded this country. Those left over were forcefully converted to the
Church, or face ethnic persecution. Fuck your invisible principles. Saving
the soul of either the country or the Church are illusions of grandeur.
Setting out to destroy the foundations of both will do much much more for
all humanity.
