I don\'t know if this should be filed under \"weird,\" maybe \"direct action\" is more appropriate as evidenced by this telling gem:

\"Police said Perala took off his shirt and put on safety glasses before throwing around computers, phones and other items.\"

I don\'t usually carry my safety goggles with me, but, hell, maybe he does.

\"Jason Perala, 22, of Fargo, told The Forum newspaper that he planned only to yell at employees at Verizon Wireless.\"

Smashing up a cell phone store is pretty kick-ass. But as someone who works in customer service I question this kind of action. Low-level service workers get a lot of harassment, and all it does is put us between a rock and a hard place, especially when we want to do well by the customer, as opposed to the boss, but have to contend with relatively unmovable company policy mixed with bureaucratic incompetence.

Please, at least ask to speak with a manager before you start yelling. We wage-slaves will thank you for it!

I think we really need to know why he was \'fed up\' before we declare this an act of class warfare. For all we know he might have been angry at poor customer service and hight costs caused by trouble making unions.

Hitting staff is fucked. Aligning ourselves with every nut case who goes on a rampage is silly. There has to be more to this story.

High costs should be blamed on money-grubbing profit-fetishist bosses, not fairness-demanding unions.

Yes, I agree Otis, but that is what he might have been thinking, and therefore not really on our side.
