And even nearby Providence, R.I., is getting into the act, showcasing its funky flavor and Nordstrom department store.

Hahaha that\'s the saddest thing I\'ve ever heard.

Why is it, that the media always labels us as \'self-proclaimed\', or \'self-styled\', or \'so-called\' anarchists?

I cannot remember the last time they refered to anyone as simply being an anarchist. Do they ever refer to \'self-described\' commies?

They use \"self-described\" because they cannot believe anyone would actually be an anarchist. It\'s totall off the media\'s radar, completely unthinkable to them.

I e-mailed a Washington Post copy editor about \"self-proclaimed anarchists.\" He said it was done when a person identified themselves as an anarchist, just like the Boston Anarchists call themselves anarchists.

This is objectivity in a good way. rather than some dumbass reporter who can\'t tell the difference between socialist, commis, greens and anarchists, the reporter relies on what the person tells them about political affiliation.

Socialists, Communists, Greens, etc are politcal parties with membership roster, etc. So, the media deals with that as they would calling a senator a Republicn or Democrat.

You\'re right, reporters can\'t really think outside the box. But it\'s good they allow you to id yourself.
