You know, it\'s been a fucking 100 years since Emma Goldman delivered numerous lectures on free love. Now we have this flare up of the right wing culture wars which we had basically won up until the Stupor Bowl. I have not interest in seeing things go backwards again, so is anybody else interested in organizing an Anti-Puritan Action network to fight back as anarchists against the religious right? It could be alot of fun!

One asks that if Emma Goldman was able to offer her thoughts, what could she ask?

\"Show it all, and screw the puritans.\"

Show the lynchings and hangings, the invasions and tortures, the slavery and injustice of the puritan nightmare.

Hell yeh!

Which reminds me, was their not a streaker at the super bowl or was that another form of demonstrator?

I suggest that this is an excellent addition to the sex-positive and clothing optional movements.

A short summary of the clothing optional movements:

From the empowering Lesbian Avengers - who in Seattle stunned the cops with slogans written on their chests \"Put down your gun and play with my tits\"- to Naked Forest Activists distracting loggers from their work activity; to topless Rainbow Flags for Mumia; to the beautiful women of NY just because they want to. Some people think it is sexist to use nudity to draw attention to another cause (anti-globalization, Free Mumia, etc.), I think it adds nudity to the cause and I can\'t wait for the day when nudity attracts no more attention and is just as routine as liberal orchestrated protests.

Of course their are people across the spectrum in the clothing optional direct action movement: from the topless rights-

There are practical measures that can be taken right now and that includes support for those in the adult industries that the right wing nuts are going after. After all Larry Flynt has probably done as much as any CATO institute or such for free speech rights and one of the best Michael Moore stunts was the Sodomobile. Destroying the state should be fun... now more than ever.

I think the best thing we can do to support the adult industry is to target Bruce Taylor, who is now a high-ranking official in Ashcroft\'s Justice Department. Taylor is a lawyer who had been involved with a right-wing \"family\" group that was fighting to force filtering into public libraries to \"protect\" children. The religious right sees them as their best hope to fight smut. Given the sheer size and popularity of adult material, I don\'t think he is going to accomplish anything, but one thing we can do is to target this fascist asshole.

On the question of the \"adult industry\", the enemy of my enemy is not my friend. The adult industry is a patriarchical corporate culture. . . actually I don\'t have time for hat rant.

Lets put it this way, I support gun ownership, but not the arms industry. I support craft gun making, which is not only plausable some types of manufacture are legal in some areas.

However, the issue of porn/erotica is not merely an issue of elliminating the capitalist class, nor is it merly an issue of free speech.

Some forms of speech are hate speech. I agree with that clasification and I would extend it to depictions of rape, depictions of intercourse where one or more parties are obviously not pleased. However, these issues are complicated . . no really I don\'t have time for that rant right now.
