Infoshop.org had over 145,000 unique visitors in October. Granted, many of those visitors found Infoshop content via search engine and quickly moved on, but Infoshop does get visited on a regular basis by many in the English-speaking anarchist movement. I think that even some of our regular participants on Infoshop News don't quite understand how many people read and participate on this site.

Infoshop has different usage policies for various parts of our overall site. Infoshop News has a set of guidelines which were developed over the years. Our policies have been adopted and modified by other sites, including Libcom. I'm the primary editor and moderator here, because I'm online often, but this year I've been offline more often and thus other Infoshop moderators have been enforcing our policies. The other editors and members of the collective generally support my work as a moderator.

In March, we had a meeting of several moderators and instituted a new policy that requires user registrations. We put this policy in place because anonymous users were attacking other users irresponsibly. We changed this policy in order to be responsible coordinators of this service. Since we instituted the policy change, people have been more responsible in their comments and the need for moderation has decreased dramatically.
