CrimethInc. ex-Workers

I'm really excited that CrimethInc is coming out with a new book before the end of this year. I'm really curious about this new tome from my favorite anarchist project. I've also heard about some other interesting Crimethinc books in the works, so it sounds like you all are keeping it real.

As for criticism--it's good that CrimethInc has been open-minded about criticism, especially the stinking piles of stupidity that have been heaped up against CrimethInc. Frankly, I think that everybody would be better off if these idiotic attacks were ignored. Most of it is embarrassing and ahistorical.

I was thinking about this actually earlier today, when our local anarchist discussion group was talking about religion. Most of the attacks against CrimethInc go beyond political sectarianism. They are more like the anger that comes from people defending a narrow dogma. You would think that anarchists, of all people, would embrace projects like Crimethinc and would welcome diversity within anarchism. But these people have an unanarchist belief that there can only be one kind of anarchism. Most of the attacks against CrimethInc from these people rely on some rather silly strawman arguments, most often involving some stupid comment about dumpsters.

Some of the criticisms I've read about CrimethInc have also relied on an ignorant, ahistorical understanding of anarchism. If you are familiar with the recent history of anarchism, say of the last 45 years here in the U.S., you'll find that Crimethinc's stuff, such as Day of War, are not exactly that original. If you just look through the anarchist media of the last 45 years, you'll find lots of stuff that looks like Crimethinc. There is also a long tradition of anonymous authorship in anarchist publishing, so Crimethinc isn't exactly doing anything new there either.

I'm really excited, too. It'll give me something else to scan and post on eMule. :D
