Description: Announcing!!

The Fourth Annual Seattle Anarchist Bookfair, August 25th and 26th of 2012.

The initial Seattle Anarchist Bookfair four years ago came together to play a role in connecting and pushing the Seattle anarchist milieu into a forward momentum, creating more opportunities to communicate face to face and find one another. In the years following a lot has happened, relationships have formed and theory has been applied. Consistent and impassioned agitation has resulted in a blossoming of diverse forms of dissent.

Last years bookfair featured workshops and panels spanning ‘justice and accountability’, ‘the coming austerity’, ‘no borders, no nations’, ‘against the police and the prison world they maintain’ and more. Many of these topics became especially relevant in relation to the anarchist practice of agitation against the police, prisons, and detention centers here in the Puget Sound. We would like to continue practice of reflection and projectuality by soliciting for workshops relevant to the ongoing social war here in Seattle, the West Coast, and North America in general. We are interested in topics reflecting the broad range of anarchist
practice in the Puget Sound.

Proposals for Workshops/discussions/panels inclusive of anarchist theory, histories of local & anarchist struggles, building relationships outside our milieu, and other forms of anarchist practice that you would like to articulate into a talk can be sent to seattlebookfair(at)riseup.net. Get back to us soon with your ideas! The bookfair will be accepting proposals until June 18th.

Central to the bookfair, in the main room, there will be booksellers, distributors, and independent presses from all over Seattle and North America . If you’d like to table this year, please provide a short description of your project and the materials you intend to distribute. Please e-mail seattlebookfair(at)riseup.net for inquiries. The bookfair will be accepting tabling requests now until July 9th.

Look forward to seeing you!
