Pussy Riot band member, Maria Alyokhina, who has been imprisoned at the 28th penitentiary in Berezniki, Perm territory, says she feels uncomfortable about the penitentiary's meat menu, as she is a vegetarian.
"There is meat in the soup and in the main course" Perm regional human rights center head Sergei Isayev said on Thursday.
After performing an anti-Putin "punk prayer" at the Christ the Savior Cathedral on February 21, 2012. The band, consisting of Alyokhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, and Yekaterina Samutsevich, were detained on hooliganism charges, resulting in wide national and international reactions.
The band refused to plead guilty, saying it was a political action, and that they did not intend to offend believers.
A court sentenced the band members to two years in a penitentiary on August 17, with Amnesty International recognizing the women as prisoners of conscience.
