A new film is world premiering at the South By Southwest film festival in Austin. The film covers the case of two anarchists who were entrapped by FBI informant/provocateur Brandon Darby at the RNC in 2008.

This is a trailer for the film.

Two boyhood friends from Midland, Texas – David McKay and Bradley Crowder – fall under the sway of a charismatic revolutionary ten years their senior. At the volatile 2008 Republican Convention the "Texas Two" cross a line that radically changes their lives. The result: eight homemade bombs, multiple domestic terrorism charges and a high stakes entrapment defense hinging on the actions of a controversial FBI informant. A dramatic story of idealism, loyalty, crime and betrayal, BETTER THIS WORLD goes to the heart of the War on Terror and its impact on civil liberties and political dissent in post-9/11 America.

This film can be important in opening narratives that haven't been told around the RNC/informant cases. Brad & david's voices have been left out as they have been vilified by the right wing and corporate media. This film presents a chance to hear their stories in all of this.

And remember the fallout continues from having unstable informants wreck peoples lives for whatever motivations they had (money, fame, stupidity, craziness etc.).
The 'Texas Rangers' (not the baseball team) an archaic branch of law enforcement have been making the rounds to many anarchist houses in Texas. Just last month they have held press conferecnces that vilified us for our politcal beleifs and actions. The accusations were made without substance or legal recourse. We were convenient strawmen.

Here is the schedule for the film (it has three showings at the festival): http://schedule.sxsw.com/events/event_FS11064

Here is a tralier for the film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kd0pY18lA4k

There will be a Q&A that includes some of us in the film at end of the first showing.

Hope to see some Tejas peeps out there!

We can't have our cake and eat it, too. People are endlessly posting online about all the 'militant' actions they're doing and that America should be like Greece, and then the minute the cops show up we are all just peaceful demsontrators. I think we need to be clear to the world and clear to ourselves (and especially young anarchists) about where we stand on positions of direct action etc. Too many people think that America will have social movements like in Greece if we just fight with the police more, that's not how it's going to be!

Just want to add, that any victims of state repression have my full support. My comment was about our movement politics in general and how we walk the fence on issues of militant action
