Anarchist MovementThe Independent Media Project, www.lunkradio.org, has evolved into a collective of anti-capitalists - the LUNk Collective. We will be working on a new website for the collective soon with off-shoot pages for our various projects. Our plans and projects include: movie showings galo...re, a local infoshop (radical lending library and community activist hub), a low-power AM broadcasting site for LUNk radio, demonstrations/protests, punk rock shows, free store, free school, free everything, community gardening, skill share seminars, fund raisers, direct action, revolutionary mischief, debates and community forums, etc.
The independent media project, www.lunkradio.org, has evolved into a collective, intent upon solidifying a base of community action. We are a grass roots, decentralized, anti-commercial and directly democratic organization. Our goal is to advance past the command markets of capitalism, to voluntary exchange relationships: based on community need and ethical production. We believe in actively replacing exploitative conditions and dependency with compassion and solidarity. In this way, we intend to dispel bigotry, alienation and apathy.

The LUNk Collective is formed of individuals that want radical (fundamental, systemic) social change and work wholeheartedly toward this goal. This includes various anti-capitalists, anarchists, communists, revolutionaries, socialists, and similarly inclined people (that may choose all or none of these loaded titles).

The LUNk House is an emerging collective house. This will be a place to provide, and share with the community – hosting skill-shares and workshops, a venue for open mics and concerts, vegetarian potlucks and a community garden. We want to hold classes and workshops in concert with various other groups, host movie showings and events for various progressive groups who share a vision of social change.

We’ll offer a free store, radical lending library with free coffee, tea and food and a space where we can broadcast Lincoln's Underground Network's (LUNk radio) low-power AM signal to downtown Lincoln (check http://lunkradio.org if you’re interested in future projects, and want to join the forum). The collective will be formed based on the principles of direct democratic consensus and anti-capitalism with a respect for autonomy and self-management. We want to give back in any way we can to the community and the working poor in this town who have been left behind, and dragged to their knees by the capitalist lie.

We’ll offer open hours, respect and love all for who they are. Create your own politics. We’re here in spirit, but now we need a space. A space within and somewhat also, outside of the venom of the system; Living off its material excesses to help our friends who are starving. A horizontal society is not just a hapless utopia, but the fruit of a growing movement. This is by people like you, trying to survive in a world we didn’t want and didn’t create. We didn’t want pollution, poverty, slavery, rape, genocide, corruption, wars for imperialism, or this burden of endless struggle to live and breathe.

Meetings, events, etc. will be held at the house.

slightly off-topic from the LUNk collective, but it's as good as place as any to ask, is Westside Proletariat is still kicking around up there?

The Independent Media Project, www.lunkradio.org, has evolved into a collective of anti-capitalists - the LUNk Collective. We will be working on a new website for the collective soon with off-shoot pages for our various projects. We have just opened our collective house: LUNk House which will serve as a hub for local activists, a broadcast site for our micro-power AM station and a radical lending library (infoshop). Our plans and projects include: hosting events and meetings for local progressive allies, movie showings galore, demonstrations/protests, punk rock shows, community gardening, skill share seminars, fund raisers, direct action, revolutionary mischief, debates, community forums. We also plan on teaming up with Food Not Bombs - Lincoln, and Salt Valley Free School to help with the projects that they have already started.

The LUNk Collective is a grass roots, decentralized, anti-hierarchical and directly democratic organization formed by individuals that want radical (fundamental, systemic) social change and work wholeheartedly toward this goal. This includes various anti-capitalists, anarchists, communists, revolutionaries, socialists, and similarly inclined people (that may choose all or none of these labels). Our goal is to advance past the command markets of capitalism, to voluntary exchange relationships based on community need and ethical production.
