IMPACT!, a radical youth organization in Petaluma is facilitating a month of activities, events, and actions in Sonoma County called Spring Into Action! This is a new effort to build our respective movements, practice solidarity between different groups, and inspire folks in the community to take direct action and participate in their community.

Monday, April 6th-
7pm- Public forum at Petaluma City Council to hear about the proposed development of a massive Target shopping center in Petaluma.
Meeting at the Environmental Center in Santa Rosa (time?)
Tuesday, April 7th
6pm. IMPACT! meeting and dinner. 1251 Marian Way. Help us plan the Spring Into Action! campaign!
7pm. Meeting for the Police Accountability Clinic and Helpline (PACH). 719 Orchard St., Santa Rosa
Wednesday, April 8th
4pm. IMPACT! canvassing- go door to door in the neighborhood with petitions for our immigrants' rights campaign, or surveys for our CopWatch program
6pm- Glaser Center, Santa Rosa (Mendocino Ave., downtown) meeting for Committee for Immigrants' Rights. Help us plan the upcoming protest for workers and immigrants' rights on May 1st!
Thursday, April 9th
IMPACT! canvassing- 4pm
Take Back the Wealth leafleting- join this new effort to raise consciousness in the working class communities of Santa Rosa. meet at 917 Orchard St., Santa Rosa at 12:30
Friday, April 10th
1:15. Santa Rosa JC (S.R. campus)- outreach for the 9/11 Truth campaign
8pm- CopWatch patrols in Petaluma- help us observe police activity and outreach to people on the streets about their civil rights
Saturday, April 11th
11 am. Howard and Washington St, Petaluma. Food Not Bombs- free, yummy vegan food.
"Lots of Lupins"- bike, bus, hike event to Anadale Park in Santa Rosa (time?)
7pm- Peace and Justice Center, Santa Rosa. John Gibler will be speaking- he is an excellent journalist who covers movements in Mexico, globalization and free trade. This event will be in Spanish, but translation should be available.
Poetry reading in Sebastopol- early Earth Day celebration (time?)
1pm- tune in to KBBF radio to hear an interview with IMPACT! about our campaign.
Sunday, April 12th
3 pm, Free Mind Media infoshop, Santa Rosa. meeting for the Democratic Press, a new effort to establish an alternative, bilingual community newspaper.
5pm, Free Mind Media. Meeting for the October 22nd Coalition Against Police Brutality.
