Olympia Queers Attack Mormon Church In Solidarity With Greece

QueerWe had a great last night sneaking about in snow covered Olympia. We paid another visit to the bigots over at the Mormon Church. We covered their building with messages in spray paint, such things as “there is no sin in your desire”, “love who you want to love and love how you please”, “sex is fun! It’s not shameful”, “queer and trans insurrection” and many, many, many, many others. We also left them a surprise, it’s a pretty big one, we think they’ll notice it within a few days. The Mormons are an atrocious bunch and, well, it just felt amazing to fuck up their holy place, especially on an early Sunday morning with the snowflakes glistening in the street lamps.

They have been so active in suppressing their flocks sexual urges through instilling bankrupt ideas of morality and shame, we hope that a few people read that and went home to commit loving acts of sodomy.

We’re also pretty fucking fed up with the way those Mormons have been giving us queer and trans people so much shit, they treat us like we’re some sort of plague that they need to quarantine before it spreads. When actually this plague is something innate in us as humans, you can’t quarantine us, cause we already exist inside of everyone. We are desire, we are freedom, we are acting on urges and possibilities, we are passion, we are a break from the routine, from the expected, from the drudgery, we are the nibble on your earlobe, the sex in the forest or the kiss under the stars. We are sexy, sexy, anarchists.

Around the world people are breaking away from their dreary slumber, rejecting the tediousness of their boring lives and finding meaning in attacking systems of misery. Let this be a call out for more actions, bigger ones, and bigger still. We want nothing from their world to stand, we want to create our own world, where everything is possible and everything is permitted.

We did this in solidarity with those sexy Greek rioters we’ve been hearing so much about. Damn, those kids really know how to turn us on, they get us all warm inside on these cold winter nights. We wish we could grab a few of those Greeks by the balaclava and just… well you know…

More attacks to cum.

there is nothing wrong with having disdain for the people who you feel oppress you, especially a church which is not a positive voice in your community, not to say dialogue isnt important at eventually changing these people's minds.

The Mormon Church has nothing to do with the protests in Greece.

the greece uprising is about fighting oppression.
a church is a symbol of oppression, just like a bank or whatever.
to support our greek comrades we need to fight the oppression we see here and the mormon church is one of those institutions of oppression for many people.
maybe in your community the pigs are a bigger problem, or banks, whatever. when we say "solidarity means attack" it means attacking all forms of oppression.

Chuck, if you don't see how these attacks can be connected I don't think you're feeling the sensibility of civil war, and what what is at stake in the struggles against the state-form and capitalism.

The desire that produces bodies to burn everything that can only hold memories of suicide and the desire that produces bodies to scribe meaning onto the walls of temples that are monuments to the false seperation of human desire and the divine, originates in the same sphere of potentiality. It is a desire that has endured and aclimated to banal horrors, and is pushing against their very logos by becoming non-functional. To be more clear, queer forms of sexuality, locate for us a practice not an identity, of non-functional forms of pleasure. The desire being exposed by comrades in Greece is similarily a non-functional form of sodomy. People can spread insurrection becuase it has been exposed as being pleasurable through the gestures of its constant practice of interuption.

Give me a FUCKING break! The Mormon Church and the Greek riots are totally unconnected! There is no Mormon Church in Greece.

Ugh! I'm disappointed in the readers of the site today. Come on people, turn on the heat and use your critical thinking skills.

Jizzbug, you come from a Mormon background. Please post a graphic that is fitting for the arguments in this thread.

This reminds me of a funny story, when i was in greece staying at a squat, the greek anarchos were asking me "what is the deal with the american guys who always walk around in twos with ties and name tags?" I explained that they were Mormon Missionaries and explained some of the nastiness of the Mormons (including, homophobia, racism, and a huge presence within the FBI) they responded "so we SHOULD attack them next time we see them?" hahaha I said yes!

So Chuck it is linked with the greek struggle (!)

But on a serious note the Greeks have been saying that true solidarity with their insurrection is fighting at home against what oppresses you, to up the ante in the social war wherever you are. Which I think makes perfect sense with this action against the bigoted homophobes of the LDS.
The History of Nomroms and Same-sex Marriage
Authored by: Jizzbug on Monday, December 15 2008 @ 06:04 PM UTC

Mormonism is a secret society closely allied with the Royal Orders of Yurop. Much of what happens in Greece is dependent upon what occurs within the Yuropeon Royal Orders (e.g., it receiving Danish princes as Kings, etc.).

Because Mormonism is a secret society, it can be difficult to get a view of what is going on unless you've been raised in it (much like as with Islam). I'm not quite sure myself, but more and more I think Church leaders are trying to force-fit and self-fulfill prophecy.

In the early history of the Church, Mormons were harshly persecuted for their practice of polygamy. This practice included same-sex marriages. Mormons call marriages "sealings", which term comes from the sealing power of the Holy Spirit of Promise -- something mentioned in the New Testament. In the late 1830s and early 1840s, Mormons practiced same-sex sealings related to what is called "the Law of Adoption". A same-sex sealing was considered more sacred and revered than its heterosexual counterpart.

In Mormon temples there are supposed to be two sets of sealing rooms, one atop the other. It is in the lower sealing rooms that Mormon heterosexual marriages take place. It is in the upper or higher sealing rooms that Mormon homosexual marriages are to take place.

Obligatory:

Not that much cognitive dissonance involved...

Mormonism does not invoke so much cognitive dissonance that they are attacking themselves. Mormon leaders use deficit financing to get power and gain (deficit financing is a lie and manipulation, so your point remains valid).

Church leaders expect that God will grow the wealth of the Mormon Empire until the Priesthood can consecrate what is held by the Church into the communitarian "United Order".

Corporate propaganda:

Vandals damage Mormon temple

For the second time in as many months, vandals have damaged the Mormon temple in the 600 block of Overhulse Road, according to the Thurston County Sheriff's Office.

A group known as "Bash Back" is believed to be responsible for the spray-painted messages found on the temple Sunday morning, said Thurston County Chief Criminal Deputy James Chamberlain.

It will cost $5,000 to $10,000 to wash the graffiti off the temple, Chamberlain said.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has been targeted by gay activists nationwide in the wake of publicity about Mormons' support of a California ballot measure that outlawed same-sex marriage there.

Chamberlain said the new graffiti included messages denouncing homophobia, the words "Bash Back," and an anarchist symbol.

Vandals hit the same temple in November, Chamberlain said. A group identifying itself as an Olympia chapter of "Bash Back" claimed responsibility on the Internet, he said.

The connections are pretty obscure as they have been conveyed, but good for Bash Back! for attacking an institution they see as oppressive. One of the greatest failings of institutions is the enforcement and perpetuation of social mores.

Well, churches, banks, get rid of them all... we have no need for them.
