Anti-Interstate 69 Spokescouncil: April 11-13 Bloomington, INHello from the rolling hills of southern Indiana. As the proverbial shit starts to fly real close to the fan, it’s time for folks to get together and collectively strategize, organize, and, ultimately, resist. In order for this spokescouncil to work effectively, it is imperative that all crews being represented come with proposals and brainstorm ideas and possible scenarios before coming. Please intend on coming with no more than two representatives from your affinity group; one persyn is fine as well. Below is the schedule, registration form, security protocols, and a note on logistics. For more information on spokescouncils and their function, please see:

Registration:
Like the consultas, this spokescouncil is RSVP only. When rsvp-ing, please respond to efindiana@riseup.net with this form and the answers to all questions:
What is your name?
Where are you from?
What crew are you representing?
When are you arriving? (you should arrive absolutely no later than 9am on
Saturday morning!)
How are you traveling?
How many of you are coming? (if you’re rsvp-ing for more than yourself,
please fill out this form for each person.)
Do you need housing?
Do you have any special requests?
Can you offer rides to anyone else or are you looking for a travel buddy?
In addition to the registration, all those intending on participating in the spokescouncil MUST be “vouched for.” Please see the section entitled “Security Protocols” below. You are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to send these to us as soon as possible (efindiana@riseup.net) before the spokescouncil.
After the registration form is received, you will receive a list of suggested reading with a confirmation email. If you have anything that your affinity group would like added to the suggested reading list, please write us with whatever that is.
Security Protocols:
* It is necessary that each individual coming registers. Please remember to bring no more than two spokes per affinity group (one is fine).
* Upon arrival, there will be a point persyn to check in with. You will be required to give them three points of references (unless you have sent them in beforehand, which we would prefer):
*
o One needs to be someone local to Indiana and familiar to the RBEF! organizing crew (e.g. one of us is fine)
o Another needs to be someone from your home community.
o The third needs to be someone from another town (e.g. if you’ve moved into different city/community within the past two years, ask someone from the community where you lived previously)
Please come prepared with the phone numbers of your reference people. Ask people to be your references that you are confident will be able to confirm who you are and vouch for you. We will call them, so if you don’t think they’ll answer the phone, it’s probably best to find someone else.
* We strongly recommend that you send your reference folks early to efindiana@riseup.net so that you can be registered and ready to go for the spokescouncil.
* If your references do not get checked before you arrive on April 11 or 12, we must be able to confidently and completely check your references by a reasonable time on Saturday morning. If we cannot do so, you may be asked to leave or stay out of discussions. If you are bringing your references to the spokescouncil, please arrive a few hours early (before 7 PM dinner on Friday, or well before 8:30 breakfast on Saturday).
* If you are registering with a fake name, please make sure that your reference folks know what name you’re going by.
* Please keep in mind that this is a closed event and is by invitation only. Know that your invitation can be retracted.
* This event is exclusively for folks actively working on resistance to Interstate 69. There will be a no-tolerance policy on folks who are present for any other reason.
Logistics:
Please let us know as soon as possible if you need housing and for how long. If you are interested in sharing or looking for a ride, please let us know and we might be able to help you out. There will hopefully be food provided, but please plan on bringing your own to supplement and enough to share with everyone. All food cooked for meals will be vegan and as healthy as possible. Directions will be mailed out on the morning of Thursday, April 10th.
All questions should be sent to efindiana@riseup.net. Hope to see y’all soon.
