Shit! I hope that APPO can drive them out.

the APPO can't do it alone, the whole population of mexico needs to revolt and also the international community has to help (ie either giving supplies etc to the people or just going over to the embassies/consulates and property destruction)I wouldn't normally say property destruction, but this is a peoples movement getting violently suppressed, so hell yeah
YA BASTA COMPANEROS
good luck...

I agree with the above poster. Mob dispersion tactics are very effective, they can only be stopped through lethal force or kidnapping (which itself is difficult without the threat of lethal force).

So basically what you have are lots of people throwing punches on both sides, but the Oaxacan's don't have the same resources as the Mexican government/police. They're shipping 'em in.

God, I hope it doesn't get any bloodier than the Mexican government has made it, but I think it's only bound to.

By deleting/censoring commentary by people who have a different view of the situation makes you no different than those you fight against.

Keep staning in the mirror - talk to yourselves - convince yourselves - and you change nobody.

Much of what you're saying about what's happened in Oaxaca these last day is not truthful, not factual.

You're singing to your own chorus.

didn't the mexican govt's '94 invasion of chiapas only stop 'cause half a million people took over mexico city?

now. now is the time for the anarchist movement to shun their fear of firearms. now is the time for affinity groups to remember why they were created. now is the time to realize that despite what is happening in oaxaca, that if anything like that happened in the US, we would be shut down immediately, mostly because we are stuck in this north american leftist mode. and only because of that.

Cause you know... there are no leftists in North America in Oaxaca. :P

What the fuck are you talking about? what does this have to do with some supposed "fear" of arms by north americans?

oh yeah, and word to the directly above post.

My understanding is that the buses in these pics had belonged to and held the federales:

"Demonstrators fled in some areas but stood up for a fight in others. Hundreds surrounded six busloads of unarmed police, forced them to flee and then set fire to the buses." (Reuters)

DOES ANYONE HAVE HIGH-RESOLUTION VERSIONS OF THESE PHOTOS?

I know a few people in Oaxaca but have not been able to find out who might have some high resolution versions of the ones posted above, we are looking for a cover image for the winter issue of Left Turn magazine (www.leftturn.org). Please contact me at max@riseup.net if you can track anyone down.

thanks!
Anyone have HIGH-RES photos from Oaxaca barricades?

Also, today, the riot cops just focused on holding their ground at the center of the city. I think national and international outrage may be staying their hand (espiecally image and legacy conscious Fox). Keep it up folks!

They should've just set the busses on fire with the pigs in them. Six busloads of cops fewer to oppress the rebellion...

You ever try setting fire to a bus wth fifty or so cops inside?

is the above poster, who suggested firearms and affinity groups, actually serious?

look, the 'revolution' cannot be won by force. it sounds cliched, but it's fucking true. numbers - hearts and minds - are the best weapon.

Really? Which successful revolution are you basing your argument on?

I don't think any of us are in the position to argue which tactics will lead to any successful revolutions. Obviously, people who are killed by the state no longer have the choice as to which tactics they use to fight/love for a revolution.

Yes they do! They always have a choice! Do not allow the other side to destroy your true intentions, turning you into fascist pigs. I was quite happy when I read of the Oaxacans giving the riot police water and food, that's what the revolution is about, not being terroristic assholes out to destroy everything in their path.

PS delete if you will.

Using violence doesnt make you into a fascist, you moron. It means liberating yourself from fascist opression.

" Do not allow the other side to destroy your true intentions, turning you into
fascist pigs."

so if a women defends her slef from a rapist she becomes just like them?
did the jews in the warsaw ghetto become just like the nazis?
sorry, pacisfism is just another religion.

Please do not conflate my position Anonymous posters. When Spain under anarchism was putting prisoners in jail and forcing them to endure psychopathtic torture, that was an inherent move away from what anarchism is about. You can shoot the cops in self defense, but if you start shooting bystanders or doing so without discretion that doesn't make you right. Posts were deleted which suggested the protestors were not as discrete as we'd like to pretend.

Posts were deleted which clearly articulated a right wing hostility towards the Oaxaca dissenters. Infoshop News has always deleted posts that display this attitude and we will continue to delete anti-protester speech. Our oppressers have their own multi-billion dollar news organizations to attack us.

Fuck you. What the fuck do you know? Are you in Oaxaca? Who are these innocent bystanders in this conflict? The PRI supporting businessmen? The biased corporate press who lie about the movement everyday? Perhaps the Priistas? Who are these people who have been hurt, let alone killed, by the people in Oaxaca?

The revolution is not about giving murderers and repressors food.

What the fuck is wrong with you? People who have been slaughtered by the state, like the 8 or more who have been killed in Oaxaca in the last few days (two of which I've gotten to witness some of their last moments) don't have a fucking choice in anything. THEY ARE DEAD. Sorry if this seems a little fucking angry, but how can you claim the bullshit you do? How can you say that defending yourself, which is all the people of Oaxaca are doing makes you a fascist? Pacifism is the sneakiest form of fascism.

"Taken" is a very strong word. I saw hundreds of people hold and push back a line of riot cops. This ain't over folks.

...I can't help wondering what kind of people become military police and agree to what the government is doing to those people of Oaxaca.
