Election Eve Corporate Victory Party-Pittsburgh 11/1/04
Submitted by POG:Because no matter who wins, they win. Join us as we preemptively and unilaterally celebrate the victory of corporate power in this years election. On Nov. 1st POG will be throwing a Corporate Victory Party as part of our election offensive, a series of events designed to encourage people to get involved politically beyond just voting, and have a gosh darn good time doing it.
Heres the skinny on the event
Monday Nov. 1st 9pm-1am at The Eye, 4814 Penn Avenue (across the street from the old Project 1877, and 4 blocks from the Thomas Merton Center)
$2-5 suggested donation, no one turned away for lack of funds
Musical entertainment: Will be provided by The Flash Darlings, 2 Sexy Beasts, Styles for Modern Living, Aydim, DJ evil, and more.
Nov 2 Day of Direct Education and Outreach. Educate voters on the need for systemic change and help leaflet "don't just vote" materials at polls around town.
Nov 3 Rally and March. Come demand an end to war abroad, justice at home and real change. SEI (4500 Fifth Ave., Oakland). 5:30PM
Additional performances by: The Pittsburgh Radical Cheerleaders and spoken word (slam style poetry) artists.
Costume suggestions, encouraged, but not required: Dress for success as one of your favorite evildoers; evil CEO man, the television, Texan oil millionaire, your favorite republicrat, Bush/Kerry/etc, or dress up as your favorite brand! Or come as a member of one of the positions in society used to defend corporate interests (police/military)
If you want to crash the party come as your favorite peoples hero; Pirate, Jesus, Robin Hood, black blocer , Emma Goldmen, Thomas Merton, Bakunin, Zorro, etc.
Bring: food, drink, fun, and a sense of humor
