A unified and determined Democratic Party opened its national convention on Monday, with an all-star lineup headed by former President Bill Clinton that aimed to put the spotlight on White House hopeful John Kerry and his message to voters. The convention was gaveled to order by Terry McAuliffe, party chairman, on a night when Clinton, former President Jimmy Carter and former Vice President Al Gore will be among the speakers laying out the themes for the Democrats' November election battle with President George W. yes lots of crusties because people identify with crusties and it isn\'t easy to demonize white kids with dread locks at all.

When protests take place during working hours on a weekday you\'re participants are going to be mostly out-of-town traveller types. I would say most local anarchists in Boston are fairly normal looking. Unfortunately most of them work too.

That\'s not so much a criticism of the BTS organizing, as it is an explaination for the overwhelming white crusty appearance of these demos.

Either way, I am happy to see people in the streets getting a radical message out, and this has been reinforced by alot of solid press conferences by BTS organizers over the past few weeks which has gotten relatively positive media coverage.

i am impressed with the media work BTS folks have done. all anarchists should be that engaged in the spin so that anarchists get more coverage and more of our real message out there. and just to say hey were out here doing this, so that people don\'t think no one is, or that the protestors are right-wing anti-abortion people or something.

Yeah, because all mass movements have been created by coalitions made up of corporate journalists and anarchists, and people who believe what they see on TV are the most revolutionary sector of society.*
