If Ron Arnold called Hoot “soft-core eco-terrorism for kids” I can only imagine what he has to say about The Secret World of Terijian. It’s hard for me to understand why anyone would have a problem with a nice little story about some kids who stand up for the forest they’ve grown to love, but it’s also hard for me to understand why anyone would take the word of someone who runs the Center for the Defense of Free Enterprise. The dangerous thing about the Secret World of Terijian is that it can really show you how backwards our real world is. We raise our children in this whirlwind of oppression and destruction where the slightest notion of resistance is branded terrorism. The least we can do is mentally equip the next generation for the unfinished struggle we leave them.
How many stories about Disney princesses can our children take? We owe them something better and the Secret World of Terijian delivers it. I’ve already met one inspiring youngster who put Terijian at the top of his book list, and I know there will be more to follow. Put it on your kid’s shelf next to Robin Hood.
